About Us
Maryland Ministry of Agriculture
The Maryland Ministry of Agriculture, Inc. (MDMOA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting urban farms, growers, and agricultural enthusiasts to promote sustainable farming practices and improve food security in Baltimore and surrounding areas.
Our mission extends beyond farming — it’s about building empowered, sustainable communities through education, hands-on agricultural work, and stewardship of urban land.

Goal One
Urban Land Stewardship
Transform Baltimore City-designated urban lots into flourishing spaces for agriculture and community engagement.
Goal Two
Education & Skill Building
Provide hands-on training in micro-farming techniques, animal husbandry (including chickens, goats, and bees), market management, and customer service skills.
Goal Five
Food Security & Community Empowerment
Increase access to fresh produce while fostering economic opportunities for local residents.
Goal Three
Home-Based Food Production
Encourage individuals to grow their own food at home—whether on porches, in garages, or small yards. We believe food security starts at home and can be achieved by growing your own produce.
Goal Four
Partnership Development
Collaborate with local urban farming organizations to adopt industry best practices and strengthen Baltimore’s agricultural network.
